  1. Standard mode

Type in a simple description of the song you’d like to create. For best results, include descriptive genres and moods. The lyrics and song style will be generated based on your prompt.

Once you’re done, just hit the Create button to generate your music! This will use 10 credits (learn more about how to manage your subscription plan here 🔗), and you’ll receive two songs based on your song description with different vibes and textures.

Your songs will take a moment to generate.

Once they’re ready, just tap on the banner at the top of the screen or visit your My Songs list in your library to listen to them!

  1. Uploading an audio clip to integrate into your song

You can also make a song using any sound by uploading your own audio clips (like street sounds, jam sessions, or anything else you can think of). To get started, just tap the microphone icon at the top of the screen.

Then, hit the recording button at the bottom of the screen to start recording your audio clip. Make sure it’s between 6 and 60 seconds in length! We recommend around 10 seconds for the optimal performance.

When you’re done recording, just hit the button again to stop recording.

Your audio recording will take a moment to upload and process. In the meantime, enter a description of your desired song style.

  1. Custom mode

Interested in writing your own lyrics or choosing a particular musical style? Custom Mode enables you to specify more details about your song. Just tap on the Customize button in the top left corner of the screen to get started.

You can create a new playlist by visiting your Library page. Once you’re there, just tap the Create a Playlist button.

  1. Simple mode

    Switch off Custom Mode. The Song Description can be a train of thought, a mood, or a general idea of the song. The lyrics and song style will be generated based on your prompt. And the music will be generated based on the lyrics and song styles.

  2. Custom mode

    Custom Mode splits the text prompts into 2 panels, a Lyric Generator and a Style of Music prompt. Each has a random generator, and a text box to enter your own.

  3. Audio upload and extend

    Audio uploads can be recorded through a microphone. You can also upload an audio file on web.

    Once recorded, you will find the clip in your library and you can use the extend function (see below) to make it into your song. Through either simple mode or custom mode.

You can extend your favorite clips using the Extend feature. You can add as many additional segments to your song as you would like, each of which are an additional 60~120 seconds, depends on the model. This feature is available under all three of Suno's plans: Free, Pro and Premier.

  1. Select Extend on the clip you'd like to continue.

  1. The selected clip will appear in the Custom Create section on the left-hand side of your screen.

Note that you can choose a time stamp to extend it from — by default it starts from end of the song. In cases your extend clips are short, consider choosing a different time to extend from.

  1. Add the next section of lyrics. You want to add only the new lyrics that hasn’t been sing in the previous clip.
  2. You can input the same style, but the model will attempt to match the style of the clip you're continuing from if you leave the style section blank. You can also put in a different style, but results may vary.
  3. Press Create.
  4. To stitch together the full song, click the ellipses and select Get Whole Song. Suno will stitch together all of the clips in that chain into a single song.

  1. Similarly, if your generation is too long, you can choose a timestamp to continue from, and enter [end] as the lyrics box. Sometime the latest model want to keep on singing, in such cases, switch to an earlier version model (v3) will help end a song.

Yes, but only if you are a paying subscriber to Pro or Premier and, as always, subject to your compliance with Suno’s Terms of Service.
